State Auditor Claire McCaskill (D) had a "squeaker Senate victory" over incumbent Jim Talent (R) (St. Louis Post-Dispatch, 11/08/06). ..... Bill Clinton will campaign for McCaskill in St. Louis on Sept. 9 (St. Louis Post-Dispatch, 8/18/06). ..... McCaskill and Talent handily won their primary races Aug. 8 (AP, 8/9/06). ..... The Missouri Republican Party filed an ethics complaint against McCaskill July 26, charging that she "had failed to fully and accurately report her family's financial assets" (St. Louis Post-Dispatch, 7/26/06). .....
