Washington is a city that knows how to pay tribute. Monuments, not skyscrapers, adorn its skyline. But even the most obvious obelisks and statues are often taken for granted by residents, and those off the Mall are easily neglected by tourists. In honor of Memorial Day, we count down the top five monuments you don’t want to miss and the top five you might not know about.
